Catherine is a passionate and creative teacher with a diverse range of experience.  She has taught music to all ages in a variety of settings from mother and baby classes to individual instrumental lessons and postgraduate seminars. Catherine worked for many years as a peripatetic instrumental teacher and was chosen to represent Redbridge Music Service as an example of best practice, teaching in front of Minister for Schools Nick Gibb as well as representatives from Arts Council England. Her company, Mosaic Music Education, creates interactive music resources for whole class instrumental teaching in primary schools.  It also provides training for teachers and recent graduates looking to begin their careers as instrumental teachers.

Catherine trained with the British Kodály Academy, where she gained a certificate in professional practice. She delivers online courses in musicianship, and is a practitioner for the National Youth Choir of Scotland where she delivers musicianship and singing sessions using Kodály-based methodology. Singing and musicianship are also a staple of Catherine’s instrumental teaching.
