Saxophonist

Catherine is an engaging soloist and experienced chamber musician. Most notably she has worked extensively with the National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain, appearing on the BBC’s ‘Play It Again!’ programme with Lord Robert Winston; and Quadrophonia Saxophone Quartet, performing for the arrival of the Queen at the Barbican Centre’s 25th anniversary celebrations. She has performed extensively in the UK and abroad at venues such as St. John’ Smith Square, St. Martin in the Fields and Beijing Concert Hall.

Here are some highlights of Catherine’s live performances:

‘Christ the Redeemer’ by Andy Scott: the finale of ‘7 Wonders’ commissioned and performed by the National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain with Catherine as the soloist. Recorded live at the 2009 World Saxophone Congress in Bangkok, Thailand.
‘Sing Bird’: 2nd movement from Yoshimatsu’s Fuzzy Bird Sonata. Recorded live in 2014 at Milton Court with Catherine Evison on alto saxophone and Elspeth Wilkes on piano.

Richard Payne’s Alto Saxophone Concerto, performed by the National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain with Catherine as the soloist. Recorded live at Beijing Concert Hall in 2007.
